Quick Start Guide

Fresh Last Updated: January 2, 2026

Time-Sensitive?

If you've just been suspended, follow this quick checklist to get started immediately.

Immediate First Steps

Step 1: Identify Your Situation (5 minutes)

QuestionAction
Did you receive TWO emails? You may have an Account Suspension - fix this first
Can you still see your profile on Google Maps?Soft Suspension - profile visible but unmanageable
Is your profile completely gone from Maps?Hard Suspension - complete removal

Account Suspension Priority

If your Google Account is restricted, ALL profiles managed by that account are affected. You MUST resolve the account issue first before any profile appeals will succeed.

Check your account status: https://myaccount.google.com/restrictions

Step 2: Quick Self-Audit (15 minutes)

Before doing anything else, check these common issues:

Business Name

  • [ ] Does your GBP name exactly match your legal business name?
  • [ ] No extra keywords like "Best" or "Top Rated"?

Address

  • [ ] Is it a real physical location (not P.O. Box or UPS Store)?
  • [ ] If you're a service business, is your home address hidden?

Phone & Website

  • [ ] Is the phone a direct line (not call-tracking)?
  • [ ] Does website link go to your actual site (no redirects)?

Recent Activity

  • [ ] Did you make multiple major edits recently?
  • [ ] Did you change name, address, AND category at once?

Critical Mistakes to Avoid
